POW – Art to the People, is a new program of artistic residencies by QdR with an on-going open call for three one-month residencies per year.
POW are creative and research residencies on Art that promote the re-consideration of the rural context (both in terms of culture and nature) and the social possibilities of Art. This doesn’t mean we expect artworks to have a function or an a priori purpose; this means that artists in residence
at POW should be aware and permeable to the context offered by it, promoting, through their artistic practice, its re-consideration.
Artists from all practices can apply to POW.WHAT DO WE OFFER?
– Individual mentoring;
– Collective discussion sessions;
– Study visits;
– Community-oriented activities;
– Specific activities related to the chosen period of residence;
– Access to a shared and equipped studio of aprox. 80m2*;
– Accommodation;
– Access to equipped kitchen and social areas;
– Basic working furniture (on request) such as table, chair, wood planks, easel etc;
– Access to QdR workshop and available tools (on request);
– A collective exhibition in a local venue.
